After graduating from Eindhoven University in 2000 (MSc. in Applied Physics) I started
working as a development engineer for Philips Lighting. In this function I
participated in the development of new HID lamp types.
Starting December 1st 2006 I have returned to the Eindhoven University
as a PhD student (see also my PhD thesis). I am working on streamers and on experimental work regarding
the theories and experiments of Randy Mills and black light power.
On February 3rd 2011 I succesfully defended my PhD thesis and
received my doctoral degree. After this I got a position as Assistant Professor
and later Associate Professor in the same university.
On January 1st 2026 I was promoted to Full Professor.

In September-December 2012 I spent a few months in Japan on a
Scientist Exchange. I worked at the AIST
in Tsukuba.
